My Professional
Carpet Cleaning Equipment

My powerful, truck-mounted cleaning equipment is known by cleaners nationwide as "The Darling of The Industry" — because many professionals that use it fall in love with it. It's the very popular, hard-working Prochem Legend GT. The engineers at Prochem pioneered the development of these large truck-mounted hot-water-extraction carpet cleaning units over 50 years ago. The company has been innovating and improving equipment ever since.

The unit slides into the back of my Chevrolet Cargo Van, where it travels with me to homes and businesses all over our home area of Texas — Spring, The Woodlands, Humble, and all the communities north of Houston.

What's best about the equipment...

...Suction Power!

My Prochem Legend unit has vacuum strength powered by a 33 hp engine. This unit has such powerful suction (over 13 inches of lift — that’s a lot) that it removes nearly all the water from deep in the carpets, so carpets are typically dry in under 2 hrs! Deeply embedded soils and cleaning solutions are removed, leaving virtually no residue behind.

cleaning equipment called wand glides
Wand Glides

Furthermore, I use wand glides attached to the cleaning wand, which are designed to help the carpets dry quicker. The holes in the glide are designed to increase the velocity of air and water through the wand which reduces drying time by leaving less water in the carpet. The use of Teflon as a wand glide protects furniture, baseboards, and flooring from scratching and scraping.

Drying carpets with an air-blower
Air Movers

In addition, I usually set up quick-dry air movers, which can get carpets dry in about 1 hour!

Fast drying times are important! It prevents fast re-soiling and the growth of mold and mildew that can develop when moisture is trapped in the carpets for too long.

Plus, the faster the drying, the sooner you can get back to your normal household routines.

... and High Water Temperature!

Very hot water is an important part of optimum carpet cleaning. Even the carpet manufacturers recommend hot water extraction to keep your new-carpet warranty intact.

I currently use a unit that produces its own heat — up to 240 degrees! And my unit keeps that super high temperature throughout the cleaning process.

You may have noticed the temperature is above the natural boiling point. The system uses pressure (like in a pressure cooker) to super heat the water. The super hot water instantly sanitizes your carpet, kills dust mites and bacteria, and effectively removes the sticky oily dirt and residues that vacuum cleaners and rental machines cannot. And again, at super high water temperatures, the drying time is much faster due to increased evaporation.

My unit blows any exhaust from the system back outside through the hoses, so no particles will become airborne and settle back onto your carpet or onto your furniture and counter surfaces.

water softener

You know how hard the water is in our area of Texas. Cleaning with hard water can leave your carpets feeling a little stiff to the touch.

I’ve invested in a water softener for my cleaning unit which really helps the cleaning solutions work better, and leaves your carpets much softer. Most professionals do not invest in a water softener. But a water softener makes a real difference.
