Guard your Valuable Furniture
with Professionally-applied Fabric Protector

After we deep clean your furniture, the best way to minimize future stains on your most vulnerable furniture — like your couches, sofas, and chairs — is by pretreating them with upholstery fabric protector.

I recommend that we restore the protector on your furniture about every 24 months. The protector will repel those inevitable spills — such as coffee, sodas, smoothies, wine, juices (both oil-based and water-based) — and will prevent permanent stains, and prolong the life of the fabric.

It's a small investment to guard your valuable furniture from permanent spots and stains.

Based on the tendency for upholstery fabrics to stain easily, it's arguable that it is more important to apply protector to upholstery, after cleaning, than it is to carpet.

Protector works by providing an invisible barrier between the fabric and anything foreign to the fiber, keeping it from bonding to the fiber and becoming a stain, and giving you plenty of time to blot it away with a white rag.

The Professional Protector Application

I apply a solvent-based protector using professional equipment, which covers the piece of furniture with a thin coat very evenly. It works extremely well on most common furniture fabrics, and it's safe for your family, your pets, and the environment. This type of fabric protection can only be applied by a trained technician who understands solvent-based applications and different fabric types.

Important note to pet owners: the protector does not perform as well with certain pet stains if not caught early, simply because pet accidents contain proteins and enzymes which break down the protector quickly.

Note about drying time: After protector has been applied, it typically takes 24 hrs for the sealer to cure and perform optimally. After 24 hours, spills can easily be blotted away.

Conclusion

Taking a regularly proactive stance against spills will keep your furniture spot-free, clean, and looking like new for the life of your furniture. Ask us about applying protector the next time we clean your upholstery.
