It’s cleaning day!
And you want to get the most out of our service. I look forward to making your carpets and upholstery fresh and clean, like new again.
Good news! There’s no need for you to vacuum your carpets before we arrive! My Pro Cleaner™ offers full-service when it comes to cleaning your carpets and upholstery —
We pre-vacuum your carpets with an industrial-strength vacuum cleaner to prepare your carpets for the most thorough cleaning possible!
There are only a few things that we ask of you to get ready for cleaning day, and some tips to get the most from our service:
1. Protect Items and Furnishings
We only request that you remove small items such as lamps, vases, family heirlooms, and other breakables from table tops prior to our arrival. We do NOT move large pieces of furniture like entertainment centers, beds, larger sectionals, dressers, pianos etc.
Please pin up full-length draperies so they are at least 6 inches off the floor. Also, please pin up the skirts on upholstered furniture and bed coverings that are touching the floor.
There’s no need to add protection to walls, because we take care of that! We put up corner guards and floor protectors to avoid scratching your floors or causing damage as we clean.
Tip: A Little Dusting Helps
Dusting your furniture and the baseboards in each room prior to your carpet cleaning appointment will help ensure that the dust won’t end up on the damp, newly-cleaned carpet.
2. Clear the Floors
Please remove small items like floor plants, ottomans, small tables, magazine racks, dining-room chairs, and anything on the floor that would hinder the cleaning process.
We also would appreciate the floors to be free of personal items, toys, books, etc.
We will be glad to help you move light furniture such as dining room chairs and small coffee tables.
3. Secure Your Pets
Pets should be kept in another part of the house that is not being used or going to get cleaned to avoid any stress that the pet might encounter with machinery sounds. Even though our cleaning agents are safe for pets and children, we still recommend avoiding contact directly with skin.
And we want to prevent your pets from getting loose, as the door will be open (to allow for hoses) during your cleaning.
4. Please Free Up Parking Space for my Truck-Mounted Equipment
We use powerful, truck-mounted equipment to clean your carpets and upholstery. For parking arrangements, we only ask that you leave room in your driveway for a full-sized van to park as close as possible to the entryway — but if that’s not possible, we can park on the street as back-up plan.
If you intend to leave while we are working, you may want to remove your vehicle from the garage, so we aren’t blocking you in while we work.
We do not need to use the hose bib. We carry a clean, freshwater tank aboard — and a water softener system that leaves your carpets softer and cleaner than hard water does.
5. Prepare for our Pre-Inspection Walk-through
Prior to cleaning, we like to go over any concerns you might have regarding our service, so that we can meet your expectations.
Nobody knows your home better than you do!
So, please let us know about your highest traffic lanes, and any stains or spots that you are particularly concerned about. That way, we can give those area(s) some extra care — and apply special techniques if necessary — and you can have the peace of mind knowing that we will address these areas.
Please also let us know of any special instructions to follow, or if there are any broken or fragile furnishings with weak legs, or loose tops, for example.
6. Prepare for After Your Cleaning
Carpets usually dry in about 2-4 hours, so carpets can be ready to use once we finish.
Note: Heavily soiled carpets can take up to 8 hours to completely dry.
For best results, follow these tips after your cleaning:
If we move and reset small furnishings after we clean, we will place tabs or styrofoam blocks under the legs to protect the furniture from coming in contact with damp carpets.
• Please leave plastic tabs and blocks under your furniture for 24 hours.
• Avoid walking on the carpet (especially with shoes) until the carpet is completely dry.
• Providing air-flow by opening windows, turning on fans, and running the A/C or heat will help speed up the drying process.
• Don’t let your kids or pets lie down on the carpet until it is completely dry.
• Slipping hazard: Please use caution when walking from damp carpeting to any hard-surface area.
That’s it.
Thank you!
Your cooperation helps us do a better job for you.
